Recipe No. 1
The KD Upgrade
Kraft Dinner is already simple. This version is still simple: but the ghee-infused boil, the beetroot powder, and the quarter-cup of hemp seeds turn it into something that earns its place in the stack.
Hemp seeds add complete protein and essential fats. Beetroot powder supports circulation. Ghee adds fat-soluble nutrients. Homemade ketchup keeps the sweetener clean. Same bowl, better inputs.
Ingredients
- 1 box Kraft Dinner macaroni (standard)
- Ghee: add to the boiling water, to taste
- Onion, chopped: boiled with the noodles, to taste
- Garlic cloves: boiled with the noodles, to taste
- Butter: added after straining, to taste
- Dried cilantro: to taste
- Beetroot powder: to taste (it will colour the bowl)
- The KD cheese powder packet
- Homemade ketchup: to taste
- Hemp seeds: ΒΌ cup
How to make it
- 1 Boil with aromatics. Add the noodles, chopped onion, garlic, and ghee to boiling water. Cook until the noodles are done.
- 2 Strain. Drain everything. The onion and garlic have done their job: flavouring the noodles and the ghee in the water. Discard them with the water.
- 3 Build the sauce. Return the noodles to the pot off heat. Add butter, dried cilantro, beetroot powder, the cheese packet, and homemade ketchup. Stir thoroughly.
- 4 Finish with hemp seeds. Add ΒΌ cup hemp seeds and stir to distribute. Serve immediately.
Amounts are intentionally left to preference: the flavour balance depends on your palate and how much beetroot powder you can handle. Start small on the beetroot; it colours everything red. The hemp seeds go in last so they stay whole.
